Perhaps of all the experience day gifts, this activity is a great way to enjoy a company anniversary – while at the same time foster camaraderie and team work for the whole company or office. It’s also called hitting the “rapids” because as the word connotes, it’s the thrill of the speed and the impact (and yes, that applies to both the water and your boat).
What happens with white water rafting? You, along with your buddies or colleagues, ride an inflatable boat, and are provided with a plastic or rubber oar, as you run along the river. The speed and the bumpiness of the ride is categorized according to classes – Class I and II for age 2 (accompanied by parents), Class III being suitable for age 4, and Class V being the roughest water of them all which is very fast and bumpy. Paddling techniques are offered to make sure that the people will know how best to paddle in given rough water situations – like how to get out of a huge boulder or how to coordinate paddling to move forward so your boat won’t just keep turning. You are usually provided with a guide who is trained at rescues and what to do out on the river.
Costs start at £48 per head. For the price, it’s going to be a very memorable experience of hearts racing and sheer thrill. Tip: always read and follow safety guidelines before undertaking this adventure. Listen to the guides because they know better and are more trained to deal with the rough waters for all the safety of those on the boat. Even if you will be equipped with helmets and buoyancy aids, your swimming knowledge must still be sufficient enough to save you from drowning.

Although it’s a high-adrenaline sport, you don’t need any previous experience.
