Airkix Indoor Skydiving
The Airkix Indoor Skydiving allows you to experience the thrill of skydiving indoors. This is a concept initially used by the American Military in 1964. Situated in Buckinghamshire this is the seventh tunnel to be made by SkyVenture and the first one in Europe. What really made this type of tunnel important to the sky diving community was after a team of tunnel instructors from America, won their skydiving category solely on their experience in the tunnel. Airkix Indoor Skydiving gives you the opportunity to live the pure elation of sky diving, in a specially constructed wind tunnel.
Unlike many tunnels, Airkix re-circulates the air, so that it warms up fast, creating energy and heat. This means it is warm in winter and cool in summer, to give you the best possible experience. The sprung floor in the flight chamber is made from steel wires, which are of aircraft standard. The instructors spend their time walking on the floor, supervising and making sure the flyers are safe.
On your arrival you will receive a fun briefing, which includes all the instruction you will need to freefall and also body flying techniques. You will then receive your kit, including specialist headgear, flight suit, knee and elbow pads, goggles and earplugs. You will also be given a keepsake DVD, which records your experience in the tunnel.
